The official teaser launch of the much-awaited Hindi film ‘Kannappa’ was attended by Vishnu Manchu, Madhoo and Akshay Kumar in Mumbai today.

Akshay Kumar donned the role of Lord Shiva in the movie. He shared his excitement on playing such an iconic character and also about his recent visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj.

With nearly 62 crore taking a holy dip in the sacred Sangam waters, Akshay praised the authorities for managing such a huge and religious event wonderfully.

Elaborating about the management he said, “The UP government has managed everything incredibly well. Hats off to them. Managing 60 cr people for 45 days, could have not been possible by anyone else. When I visited the Maha Kumbh Mela, about 4-5 crore crowd could be witnessed there. I had a wonderful experience watching everything moving on very smoothly.”

Responding to the latest controversy surrounding hugging the Shivlinga as inappropriate in the ‘Mahakal Chalo’ song, Akshay said Lord Shiva is our father and if I hug him, what is wrong in it. My strength comes from him. If anyone misunderstands my devotion, love and respect for him, then I don’t see myself at fault. “I have always been like that.”

Sharing his own philosophy of life that he has imbibed from Lord Shiva he said, “Lord Shiva’s simplicity is something I have always followed in my life. I always like to tread on the simplicity principle which I learned from Lord Shiva.”
